Race season is in full swing, and we’ve got some fabulous ideas to help you celebrate your favorite driver, or NASCAR in general!!
If your desire is to celebrate your favorite driver, we have a Race Care display that can help with that!! No DIY required, simply choose your light color, order and find the perfect spot in your home to display! Your ‘area’ for the car could be your front yard, hanging on your garage door or the side of the house, hanging on the wall of the man cave, or you could make it the focal point of your living room and hang it directly above the television! If you are married and your wife is not quite the race fan you are, we would strongly recommend NOT going with our last suggestion!
You could create a racetrack in your front yard!! Using string lights, you can create a start/finish line, then a large oval of lights around the outside and a smaller oval of lights around the inside. If you’ve got a few favorite drivers, you could place a few different cars (from above) at various places around the track. OR, you could make your display interactive!!! Why not race bicycles with your friends before or after a race on your track? If adult beverages are normally being consumed while you watch a race with your friends, this could get extremely interesting!! We would like to request that you video tape some of the fun and send it to us (we like a good laugh every now and again).
If this is a little outrageous for your personality, we understand. Maybe the perfect DIY project for you would be the creation of a checkered flag! Alternate black and white ornaments, secure with hot glue to canvas, plywood, or plexi-glass in the form of a flag, then simply hang anywhere in your home. You can make it small or large depending on the room you choose to hang it.
Never, ever underestimate the impact of string lights!! The possibilities with lights are endless, really. You could form a string into the number of your favorite driver on a wall or window. You could just outline the window in the color of your favorite driver and hang the checkered flag in the center, creating the layering we discuss often in this series.
We hope some of these ideas for racing have your creative juices flowing. We also hope you are enjoying the series. We welcome your ideas and your feedback!
