Most people
can find fairly simple yet meaningful DIY projects for mom in May, but
sometimes it can be a little more difficult to find some suitable for dad! Mom has to love whatever you make her, no
matter how horrible it might turn out; but dad is more masculine so those
projects tend to me a lot more intricate and difficult. We’re here to change all of that!
A lighted
wine bottle is a great gift for dad!
Maybe wine isn’t the way to go, just soak a liquor bottle to get the label
off and use that! Simply drill a hole in
the bottom for the cord and stuff with string lights. You can add a stencil or lettering to the
outside commemorating dad’s favorite pastime, or simply leave the label on if
dad appreciates a glass every once in a while.
This would be a perfect addition to the man cave or bar area.
You could
create dad’s name, or use the letters D – A – D, mod podge (which is just
watered down glue by the way) some printed photos (print them on regular
printer paper, they’re easier to manipulate) and the letters and allow to
dry. Once dry, you can secure string
lights around the outside of the letters to illuminate! These would look great hanging on the wall in
the man cave or dad’s office!
Another
great project, that might require a little more creativity, is this lighted,
stencil canvas. Choose any blank canvas
you would like, find dad’s sports team logo in a stencil, or create one using
tape (if you’re that crafty). Once the
stencil is applied, paint the canvas in the team colors! When the paint dries, slowly pull the stencil
(or tape) off the canvas. Once the logo
is finished, secure string lights to the back inner border of the canvas and this
will make a perfect addition to any room in the house!
This Father’s Day is sure to be a hit! Did will be thrilled you stepped outside the box, and especially thrilled he’s not getting another tie!
