Decorating With Lights

There are several ways to decorate in your home using strand lights year-round. We have come up with several ideas for you to use or share with your family & friends. Using the color string lights of your choice, make a design (it could be a star, a branch tree, a car, whatever shape you would like on the wall you are decorating) out of the lights. You could use adhesive or small clips to adhere it to your wall. This idea would be great for creating a ‘family tree’ on your living room wall. You could add pictures to the ‘branches’ to represent the mother’s parents or father’s parents. This would also be a great decorating idea in a child’s room. As the child grows and their tastes change, you could change the lights to new and exciting shapes. Change the ambiance of any window in any room using any color string lights. By simply placing a strand of lights around the entire window sill, when the lights of the room are turned off & the string lights are turned on, the entire window ‘glows’ the color of the strand. This would be easy to change with seasons or holidays. Brighten up any room with string lights and tulle. For this simple project, you can use any color of string light and any combination of tulle colors. Cut tulle in strips about six inches long and tie all the way down the strand of lights. You could hang the strand on a wall in a design like we discussed earlier, or you could lay the strand on a table or mantle. This could also change with the seasons or holidays by changing the tulle occasionally. Another simple decorating with lights idea would be especially adorable in a child’s room. Purchase wooden letters and paint them the color of your choice. Before hanging them, wrap them in string lights (also your choice of color) to put a new, exciting twist on the letters.
